Rana Ghosn has spent the last decade working on nature in and around Chouf, starting with a single project and growing into something a whole community now depends on.
The work is unglamorous and mostly unfunded. It runs on volunteers, borrowed space and a refusal to wait for permission — which is exactly why it belongs on this shortlist.
